Earlier 19th century. Square, coped brick stalk of Prinlaws Mill.
No vestige of the Prinlaws Mill for flax spinning and bleaching remains apart from this stalk, which may belong to the West Mill built in 1836; the North Mill being added in 1853. John Fergus & Co., originating in 1828, went into liquidation in 1957. Prinlaws was a completely separate entity from Leslie, set up as a works village with its own amenities.
