Robert Rowand Anderson, 1874. 2-storey turreted and crowstepped 'Baronial' lodge house with attached stable block, converted. Droved ashlar with stone margins, base course, cavetto eaves cornice and chamfered arrises.
W (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: 3-bay, turret at centre in re-entrant angle with panelled door and fixed, curved window over, single narrow light to left and tripartite window at 1st floor; single storey to left with bipartite window; 2-storey crowstepped gable to right with stone-capped, canted bay at ground and window to right in gable, outer right corner rounded with fluted moulding immediately below eaves height.
N ELEVATION: gable-end of lodge to right with narrow light to left of centre at gablehead, modern rooflight behind in main roof pitch; stable block to left with window to right of centre and smaller adjacent window to right, bipartite window to outer right and 2 narrow lights to outer left, dormer gablet to outer right, louvred lucarne to left of centre at ridge.
S ELEVATION: window at centre ground of lodge with abutting gatepier immediately to right, dormer windows breaking eaves at centre and right, outer right corner rounded with fluted moulding below eaves height. Stable block with door and adjacent light to right in blinded arched entrance, 3 windows at centre and modern garage door in opening to right, rooflight at centre flanked by louvred lucarnes at ridge; harled, flat-roofed, double garage extension to extreme right.
Mainly 4-pane glazing pattern, dormers with 6-pane upper and 4-pane lower glazing pattern, gable windows of lodge with 15-pane glazing pattern, all in sash and case windows; remainder with small-pane patterns except canted bay window with modern plate glass glazing. Graded grey slates. Ashlar coped skews with beak skewputts, ashlar coped stacks with cans, stable block with hipped stacks, ball finial to turret and decorated rainwater hoppers.
BOUNDARY WALLS: coped rubble boundary walls to N and S of property.
