Built in 2nd half of 18th century. Two near contemporary
2-storey, 3-bay houses, that nearest W built first, houses
linked by pend. All rubble-built with ashlar dressings,
(dressings interrupted on original house where pend arch
inserted) continuous eaves/lintel band; slate roofs.
RANGE NEAREST W (NOS 28, 30): forestair with plain iron
handrail to central 1st floor door; windows in outer bays; 2
doors at ground, one now a window; otherwise, boarded doors
with rectangular fanlights; windows mainly sashes (4 and
12-pane glazing pattern). Brick end stacks.
RANGE NEAREST E (NO 26): wide central boarded 2-leaf door;
square 1st floor window; sashes throughout, with 4-pane
glazing pattern; ashlar-built small end stacks. Pend
(probably contemporary with main range) originally a wide
depressed arch, archway largely blocked, now with 2 doors to
either side (one, at least, serves as pedestrian pend);
enlarged window over pend has cill cut through arch.
