Description

18th century with later alterations. 2-storey and attic, 2-bay (3-bay at ground) rectangular-plan crowstepped gable-ended house converted as shop at ground. Cement-rendered and lined at ground to gabled elevation; harled above and to S. Cement margins to windows; strip quoins.

E (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: 3 evenly disposed window at ground; window in each bay at each floor above; gablehead stack.

S (SIDE) ELEVATION: deep-set, irregular openings at ground; 4 regularly disposed windows at 1st floor.

W (REAR) ELEVATION: single storey projection at ground from bay to left of centre; attic window to main block above. Window at each floor in bay to right.

2- 4- and 12-pane timber sash and case windows; large timber-framed shop windows to E at ground; small-pane timber framed attic windows to E.; rooflights to S pitch. Grey slate roof; harled corniced gablehead stacks; uPVC rainwater goods.

INTERIOR: not seen, 1998.

B-Group with Number 33, 35 and 41 Victoria Street. This house forms part of a group of gable-ended houses along Victoria Street, with closes running between; their early date and original arrangement, is unusual.
