Circa 1830, symmetrical 6 bay, 3 storey and attic, 3 house
block, painted polished ashlar, originally with tuscan
pilastrade at ground floor, containing shops, shop-front
survives at nos 42 and 44 (mutilated) and at door to 45,
modern shop front at 45, late 19th century shop-front at
46. 1st floor windows have corniced architraves, (Cornices
removed at nos 42 and 44), cill-course at 2nd floor and
mutuled cornice and blocking course. Slated piended
platformed roof piended to east and west, straight skews,
brick stacks, original segmental headed dormers to attic.
Nos 38-46 The square built to a uniform design. Nos 42-46
originally called Innes Place
