Description

1810-20. S facing, 2-storey, 5-bay house with slightly
advanced and pedimented ashlar centre bay; slightly set back
and marginally lower 2-storey, continuous 4-bay range at W
gable. Harled, tooled and polished ashlar dressings and
margins. Modern harled rear with various modern additions.
Centre entrance with corniced doorpiece with pair Roman Doric
columns in antis; recessed doorway with radial fanlight.
Further centre corniced entrance in E return 3-bay gable;
plain doorway in centre W return gable under glazed oculus;
continuous bandcourse between ground and 1st floors; 12-pane
glazing, aprons to 1st floor windows in W block. Cavetto
eaves cornice; ball finial to pediment. Paired ridge stacks
to main block which has piended slate roof; gabled slate roof
to W range.
2 projecting modern stairwells to rear with concrete tile
roofs; modern glazing to rear fenestration.
2 AND 2A STATION ROAD: single storey, 3-bay rubble wing
facing Station Road; harled rear with entrance and piended
dormer breaking wallhead; 2-pane glazing. Ridge stack;
piended slate roof.
INTERIOR: little of interest survives.
