Description

Earlier to mid 19th century; recently heavily restored continuous range of 3 2-storey 3-bay blocks, adjoining a rear wing of 7-11 Castlegate (Prince Charlie's House).

Gable end.

BLACKHILLS CLOSE ELEVATION: regular principal elevation, of cream snecked and stuged sandstone with ashlar margins and cills; modern board doors with small-pane fanlights to centre of each apparent 3-bay house; 2nd and 3rd houses from right with single gabled dormer.

UNDER NAGS HEAD CLOSE ELEVATION: irregular rubble (rear of above) with cement margins and cills, pair of concrete forestairs, and 4 glazed doors at ground. Velux skylights to 2nd and 3rd houses.

12-pane timber sash and case windows (12-pane casements to dormers). Grey slates.
