Description

Early 19th century. Symmetrical 2-storey 5-bay harled villa. Painted ashlar margins.

E (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: shallow 3-bay bow at centre with deep-set panelled door with rectangular sunburst fanlight and cornice; outer windows at ground extended down; regular fenestration at 1st floor.

N ELEVATION: broad bay to left; canted ashlar window at ground with chamfered arrises, cornice and blocking course; window above, and round-headed dormer. Narrow bay to right, slightly recessed; small window at ground, regular size above.

S ELEVATION: 3 bays, that to right broader; glass doors with rectangular fanlights and painted ashlar surrounds (as windows) to bays to right; left bay blank at ground. Windows to 1st floor.

W ELEVATION: 4-bay irregular rear facade; 2 closely grouped right-hand bays advanced with timber and glass lean-to porch in re-entrant angle. Plate glass timber sash and case windows. Piended roof to main block with 3 subsidiary piends at right angles to rear. Coped red ashlar stacks with moulded octagonal cans; grey slates.

INTERIOR: not seen 1992.

Statement of Interest

There seems once to have been a conservatory attached to the right hand-bay of the S elevation. The coach house to rear has recently been radically converted to a serarate dwelling-above-garage.
