Description

Earlier 19th century. 2-storey and basement, 3-bay rectangular plan classical house with stair tower to rear. Rubble stone walls, rendered at front, painted on all sides, basement with channelled rustication, painted eaves band, quoins.

N (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: symmetrical. Central masonry staircase with square piers at base leading to pilastered and corniced doorpiece with 12-pane rectangular fanlight, door with glazed upper panel. Basement windows, 1st floor windows architraved, 2nd floor plain margins and lintels at eaves. Stone eaves cornice, lead covered parapet.

E ELEVATION: 1 window 2nd floor to right.

W ELEVATION: as above.

S ELEVATION: asymmetrical. Piended projecting offset to left with 2nd storey window on W face and timber oriel on E. Single bay to right, window to each floor.

12-pane sash windows on all elevations. Piended roof in grey slate, chimney stacks centrally placed to E and W above eaves, small stack to rear projection.

INTERIOR: not seen, 1996.

BOUNDARY WALL AND OUTBUILDINGS: rubble stone boundary walls with coping to N, S, E & W. Reduced to low section for entrances to N.

Outbuilding to SE. Conservatory addition to W not included in listing.
