1821. Single span, segmental arch, coursed rubble bridge with dressed voussoirs and coping. 2 drain holes to N. Coped rubble wall adjoining at right angles to N and S at W end.
This bridge was built jointly by the Burgh and Sir Robert Preston in 1821. The construction of the bridge marked the beginning of the development of Preston Crescent (also feued by Sir Robert) where a number of plain classical houses were built, some of which to accommodate sea captains. When the Dunfermline and Queensferry Railway was opened (1877), Commercial Road was formed to take the place of Port Street which had been rendered useless to vehicular traffic.
