Early 20th century. 2-storey, symmetrical tenement with shops to Princes St West. Coursed and squared cream sandstone; polished ashlar dressings. Base course; deep pulvinated fascia to S elevation; cornice between ground and 1st floor; cill course; architraved and corniced windows at 1st floor; ashlar mullioned windows; eaves/lintel course; cornice; angle at ground corbelled to square.
N (PRINCES STREET) ELEVATION: 3 shops with original shop front to right. Shop to centre with door to right shop window to left. Tripartite shop front to left, doorway to centre, window to left, partly blocked window to right. Tripartite shop front to right with 2-leaf glazed doors to centre, timber shop gate, shop windows flanking. Bipartite window to centre at 1st and 2nd floors. Single windows flanking. 2-storey bowed oriels flanking to outer bays, roll-moulding to arrises to 1st floor oriels with dentilled cornice and scrolled decoration above.
W (JOHN STREET) ELEVATION: return of N wing, doorway to centre at ground, windows flanking, shop window to outer left, bipartite window to outer right. Bipartite window off-centre left and to outer right and 1st and 2nd floors. Window off-centre right and to outer left at 1st and 2nd floors. Slightly lower 3-storey, 8-bay tenement to outer right. 2 bipartite windows to centre at ground, 1st and 2nd floors. Single windows flanking to each floor. Doorways flanking. Single windows flanking to each floor. Bipartite windows to each floor to outer bays. Plate glass sash and case windows. Grey/green slate roof; tall corniced ashlar stacks.
Decent tenement block on corner site, relatively unaltered and retaining original glazing. Similar design to a tenenment at 149-151 Clyde Street East and 1-3 Glenfinlas Street.
