Mid 19th century. Large 2-storey and loft space, 8-bay, rectangular-plan (splayed to E) former spinning mill range with double-pitched roof, positioned to S entrance of former Weensland Mill site. Central tripartite corniced doorpiece to principal (S) elevation with bridge over basement area; canted window to left bay of E gable end; large hoist doorways to right bay to ground, 1st and loft floors. Rubble stonework with sandstone and cement rendered quoins.
Predominantly 4-pane timber sash and case windows, timber panelled doors. Pitched slate roofs; rectangular corniced gable end stacks.
INTERIOR: Original ground floor level now heightened to be positioned above 1st floor windows. Full basement.
The building is a good example of a mid-19th-century spinning mill set prominently to the south of the site, and is the main remaining element of what was once a substantial mill complex. The spinning mill was converted and used as the offices for the Weensland Spinning Co. (presumably the canted window was added at this stage) in the 20th century. The Weensland Spinning Co ceased trading in the 1990s at, which point the building was converted into function suites and associated accommodation by Crouch Hogg and Waterman. The majority of the mill buildings on the site including the main mill building with ornamental cupola were lost to a fire in 1999. The remaining brick chimney was given Listed Building Consent for demolition in 2002. List description revised following resurvey (2008).
