Probably by Thomas Baird. Late 19th century, large 2-storey villa with big and handsome conservatory on W flank.
VILLA: is red rock-faced ashlar, piended slated roof with balustraded platform; 2-storeys, asymmetrical 3-bay S front with outer canted windows, mullioned and transomed ground floor windows; open porch recessed right. Plate glass sashes; deep eaves; stacks.
CONSERVATORY: is symmetrical, tall centre with canted front, low side aisles.
Stepped perimeter wall (also rock-faced ashlar) encloses large garden; circular gatepiers (at street corner to SE) with conical caps set within crenellated caps; decorative wrought-iron gates.
Category B for quality of conservatory. Built for John Campbell, writer, of Campbell and Prentice.
