Description

H and D Barclay, 1878-9, (1879 datestone) variant of
their palazzo-style pattern for Glasgow's board schools.
2 storeys, symmetrical street elevation, roof breaks
forward over shallow advanced ends; pilasters at each
level divide lights. Polished ashlar; original T-shaped
glazing; deep mutule cornice; piended slate roofs; 3-
light flanks; full-height rear wing. Single storey and
attic janitor's LODGE to E with broad-eaved dormer
heads; all set behind low coping with decorative iron
railings (part now brick), ashlar gatepiers.
