Circa 1825-30. Corner range of terraced and flatted classical
houses. 3 storeys and basement rising to S in slope; 12 x 13
bays; 2nd and 3rd bays from E, on West George Street, blind.
Polished ashlar, channelled, with voussoirs at ground floor,
rear and side elevations stugged ashlar. N return droved
ashlar with some plate glass and 12-pane glazing.
Semi-engaged Doric doorpieces at No 109 Douglas Street and No
239 West George Street; consoled, corniced architraved
doorpieces to Nos 105, 107 Douglas Street and Nos 305, 307,
309 West George Street, double, single and triple entry
respectively; entries at heads of steps, oversailing basement
at West George Street. All windows sash and case in
architraves, mainly 12-pane glazing. Ground floor arcade on
cill band with recessed glazing. 1st floor cill band, moulded
cill, cornices. Plain 3rd floor. Eaves cornice; blocking
course. Corniced ridge stacks; corniced wallhead stacks to
West George Street; westmost end stack. Slate roof.
