Description

Circa 1855. 3-storey and basement with some attics. 15-bay
classical tenement attached to western end of Royal Terrace.
Ashlar, channelled at ground floor. Snecked rubble rear
elevation. 3 square-piered Corinthian porticos with mutule
cornices at Nos 56, 60 and 64 Kelvingrove Street and
alternating recessed pilastered close entries. Each entrance
at head of flight of stone steps. All windows sash and case
in architraves. Tripartite, stone mullioned windows to left
of each close entrance. 1st floor windows, architraves
dropped to band course, aprons, cornices. Mainly 12-pane
glazing in basement. Eaves cornice. Single-light dormers.
Axial and end stacks. Slate roof. Cast-iron railings to front
area.
INTERIORS: coved ceilings to ground floor rooms. Cast-iron
balusters with wreathed handrails in closes.
