Description

William Spence, circa 1879. 4-storey, 10-bay warehouse/department
store with classical details. Modern ground floor, shop front.
Painted ashlar facade, cast-iron frame. Coupled Corinthian
pilastered doorpiece with sculpted frieze. 1st floor plain
pilasters. Giant order of Corinthian pilasters rising from
2nd to 3rd floor; blind balustrade to 2nd floor windows.
Sculpted details between 2nd and 3rd floors. Entablature and
main cornice. Balustraded parapet. Corinthian columned interior.
