Baron Marochetti, 1844. Bronze equestrian statue on
rectangular grey stone base and pedestal with bronze
ribbon and waterleaf bands above and below, and with
bronze military bas-reliefs to sides.
Marochetti also designed the equestrian statues
of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert in George Square.
The monument takes a prominent place before Stirling's
Library at the head of Ingram Street.
