Description

Later 19th century. 3-storey and attic warehouse, altered

1908 by Burnet Boston and Carruthers. Plainer but generally

similar in style to 59-83 Bell Street (see separate item).

Rendered painted walling; good cast iron columned ground floor

with modern glazed frontage. Simple 12-bay elevation to Bell

Street, 9-bay elevation to High Street with central full height

arched window. All windows single light, all reglazed with

modern pivot sashes. To High Street these are flanked by giant

order pilasters, all windows recessed. To Bell Street, masonry

panels between windows, 2nd floor windows plain. Cornice over

ground and 1st, cill courses to 2nd. Eaves cornice with deep

parapet, dormers with pediments, to angle more decorative with cartouches. Mansard slate roofs, French roofs to angles.
