Circa 1800. Long astylar tenement now partly converted
to flats with modern "neo Classical" shopfronts to ground.
4-storey, 13-bay grouped 4-3-3-3.
Polished ashlar walling, stonecleaned. All windows single
light with rear stair turrets with modern roofs; moulded
cills, all sash and case with 12-pane glazing.
Continuous cill band to 2nd. Moulded eaves cornice,
axial stacks.
Probably part of J and W Carswell's development providing
burners and domestic accommodation.
