Description

James Miller, architect; 1898. Polished ashlar, 2-storey and attics, forming part of Lancaster Crescent. At left, steps oversailing basement to Doric porch with triglyph frieze (stone badly eroded) and mutule cornice.

Doorpiece architraved and corniced with dwarf-gallery fanlight. Vestibule barrel vaulted in stone with cartouche ornament. Oak panelled door with leaded glass panels. To right, single storey canted windows flank single architraved window. 6 single windows to 1st floor, sash windows, 18-pane glazing throughout. Continuous string course at ground and 1st floor cills; strings at eaves, plain cornice. Deep plain parapet broken by modern brick balustrade in front of 4 box

dormers, with small pane glazing. Corniced axial stacks, slate roofs.

Droved ashlar rear with mullioned and transomed 5-light bow to ground; tripartites above. Parapet to steps, solid ashlar with coping. Low coped ashlar wall to garden.
