Description

1882. 3-bay house; 3 storeys attic and basement.
Polished ashlar, painted at basement. Steps oversailing
basement to painted pilastered doorpiece with deeply
recessed door. Left bay; canted 2-storey window with
parapet rising from basement to 2nd floor. All windows
architraved; corniced at ground. Right bay bipartite
windows. Sash windows, plate-glass glazing. String
course at cills at 1st and 2nd floor, band course of
Vitruvian scrolls over 1st floor; eaves cornice. Axial
stacks, slate roofs. Cast-iron railings to steps and
basement; square, painted ashlar gatepiers.

Built as manse for Dr George Reith.
