In the style of David Rhind. Circa 1870. 2-storey and attic,
5-bay bank building in French Renaissance style. Lightly
stugged red sandstone with polished yellow ashlar dressings
and quoins. 3 boldly projecting central bays with
square-headed architraved windows (missing cornices) in
ground floor. Band course above supports pilasters to
round-arched and keystoned windows in 1st floor. 1st floor
windows in recessed bays, similarly detailed. Dentilled
cornice; parapet above with ball finials at angles, broken
by tall, central, pilastered, round-arched dormer with
segmental pediment, in steep mansard roof. Projecting porches
in re-entrant angles with round-arched, pilastered
doorpieces, dentilled cornices and balustraded parapets;
boldly channelled quoins. 2 tall stacks at junction with
central mansard and flanking piended roofs.
