Later 18th century, two storey, 3 bay, harled with ashlar dressings. West front: ground floor rendered in imitation of snecked bull-faced rubble with rendered plinth below and band course above. Windows at 1st floor are taller than those at ground floor, window architraves are lugged and cills carried on corbells. Moulded eaves course advanced at ends over quoins. Entrance in Mason's Wynd. Slated roof, gabled, skews follow line of bellcast roof, chimneys rebuilt in brick.
Commemorative plaque records that "in this building, Burns was made Royal Arch Mason, 13 May 1787".
