Description

1865. 2-storey and attic, wide 3 bays; tooled ashlar
with polished ashlar dressings and rusticated quoins.
Narrow recessed centre bay with centre door and
balustraded, pilastered and Roman Doric columned portico,
flanked by canted bay windows, also with
balustrade. Lugged margins to all windows; cill band
links 1st floor windows; eaves and projecting eaves;
pair ridge corniced stacks in batteries of 4;
similar battery to rear; 3 segmental-headed dormers to
front and similar to flanks; shallow piended slate roof.
Square ashlar gatepiers with cable moulding at angles,
corniced caps and monogram JG.
Coped rubble garden walls. Later conservatory.

Statement of Interest

Formerly Dalehaple. Built by James Grant Esq. 1 entrance (of

original pair) with gatepiers removed circa 1986.
