Description

Charles C Doig, 1938-1945. Regular 2-storey terrace of
houses, each block within the terrace comprising 4 2-bay
dwellings. Rubble, simulated tooled ashlar dressings.
Slightly advanced paired gabled bays are flanked
by paired entrances; outer bay 1st floor windows break
wallhead under swept dormer. Coped ridge and end
stacks; slate roofs.
Glazing: original glazing pattern is 6- or 16-pane sashes
and original doors have 3 lower panels with 6-pane
glazing in upper light. The following houses now (1988)
have modern glazing: nos 64, 66, 76 and 90. They also
have modern doors.
Terrace fronted by low coped rubble wall dividing
housing from main road.

Statement of Interest

Planned before the outbreak of war in 1938 and completed

in stages towards the end of hostilities.
