1852. Substantial 2-road engine shed of 10 bays; rubble; round-headed windows with multi-pane glazing.
Appears on 1868 OS. Former Item 142 (1981 Revised List).
The engine shed was built by the Morayshire Railway which opened from Elgin to Lossiemouth on the previous day, 10 August 1852, eventually becoming part of the Great North of Scotland Railway. the shed is reputedly the oldest surviving engine shed in Scotland which earns it particular significance.
