a. 128-132 HIGH STREET: circa 1840. 2 storeys, 7 bays
Renaissance facade. Modern shop fronts and paired
round-headed arched entrance to pend. Ashlar 1st and
2nd storeys with rusticated quoins, moulded architraves,
panelled aprons and segmental-headed pediments to 1st
floor windows; raised margins to 2nd floor windows;
cornice, low parapet with 2 wallhead chimneys linked by
low arcaded balustrade and flanked by large console
brackets; slate roof.
b. 134-136 HIGH STREET: late 19th century. Symmetrical
3-storey and attic, 3-bay shop and dwelling; polished
ashlar facade; modern shop front to ground floor;
bipartites in 1st and 2nd floors, with giant pilasters
flanking outer bays, fluted at 1st and 2nd floors,
terminating in ball finialled end dies linking wallhead
balustrade. 2 piended dormers, one large, one small;
2-pane glazing. Corniced end stacks; slate roof.
