Andrew Heiton, Perth, 1893. Scots Baronial.
Asymmetrical, 2 storeys and attic; bull-faced rubble with
ashlar dressings. Entrance in drum tower on W gable,
with re-used panel above.
Advanced crowstepped bay at right with tripartite at
ground floor and 2 windows at 1st floor; bowed oriel at
attic level; chamfered corners to ground floor corbelled
to square at 1st floor. Recessed bay with ground floor
windows, 1-2-1, single bipartite in 1st floor. Vents to
basement in form of gunloops. Crowstepped gables;
slate roof.
Decorative cast-iron railings. Modern wing to rear.
Rebuilt after fire damage, circa 1974. Panel at entrance
dated 1576 with IC IC for Cumming of Lochtervandich, whose
house stood on this site. Also over doorway inscribed DO
VEILL & SET NOCHT BY DEMYINING FOR NO MAN SHALL UNDEMIT BE.
