Description

Circa 1882. 4-storey, 4-bay Scottish 17th century style tenement, forming part of terrace. Squared and snecked bull-faced sandstone with polished ashlar dressings. Base course; dividing band course above 1st floor; string course above 2nd floor; chamfered reveals.

E ENTRANCE elevation: architraved doorway between inner bays with cornice and decorative strapwork overdoor; panelled door; plate glass fanlight. Rectangular blank tablet set at 3rd floor above. Single windows in bays flanking doorway; pedimented dormerheads at 3rd floor with scrolled skews. Full-height corniced canted window to outer right; facetted pyramidal roof; cast-iron finial. Bipartite windows in bay adjoining neighbouring tenement to outer left; single windows in angled bay; parapet surmounting these bays. Plate glass sash and case windows. Grey slate roof; corniced mutual stacks; moulded eaves guttering. INTERIORS: not seen 1991.
