Circa 1850. 2-storey, 3-bay symmetrical rectangular-plan villa. Sandstone rubble, with snecked stugged ashlar of varying colours, droved surrounds, and polished door dressings to W. Projecting eaves with exposed rafters.
W (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: panelled door at centre; plate glass fanlight; raised doorpiece; carved consoles supporting cornice. Regular fenestration at ground and 1st floors.
N ELEVATION: Slit window at 1st floor.
4-pane sash and case windows. Grey slate M gabled roof.
INTERIOR: not seen 1990.
Low ashloar coped boundary wall to street, now surmounted by timber fence. Detached garage to N.
The grieve of the Grange estates is said to have lived at this house (see Grange Associaiton (1982
. It is certainly one of the arliest of the feued villa developments.
