Description

1825. 2-storeys and basement; 3-bay classical house. Cream sandstone ashlar with channelled ground floor to principal elevation; coursed rubble sandstone to sides and rear. Base course dividing band course; cill course and architraves to 1st floor windows; cornice and blocking course with raised centre.

E (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: cavetto-splayed central doorway with panelled door and plate glass fanlight; doric columns to corniced doorpiece; single window at 1st floor above and in bays to outer left and right.

W ELEVATION: raised basement with stone porch to centre, stair window above, regular fenestration flanking. NW quoin chamfered at ground and swept to square above.

Plate glass timber sash and case windows. Grey slate piended roof with tall, shouldered, rendered and coped wallhead stacks; moulded cans.

INTERIOR: glazed vestibule, winding stair, panelled doors, decorative plaster cornices. Fine white marble chimneypiece in 1st floor bedroom to front.

BOUNDARY WALL AND PEDESTRIAN GATE: low coped boundary wall to street; pedestrian gate adjoining house to S. Stone wall to garden at rear.
