Description

Early 19th century. 2-storey and basement, symmetrical 12-bay classical terraced houses with advanced terminal blocks. Cream sandstone ashlar, rusticated at ground floor; coursed rubble sides and rear. Base course; dividing band course; cill course to 1st floor windows; cornice; blocking course, raised to centre of terminal blocks.

E (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: 3-bay terminal blocks advanced to outer left and right. Doorways in bays 1,6,7 and 12; later advanced timber porch to

No 40; panelled doors; plate glass fanlights; single windows above. Single windows to both floors in remaining bays.

Plate glass timber sash and case windows. Grey slate piended roof; coped wallhead and mutual stacks; moulded cans.

INTERIOR: not seen 1995.

BOUNDARY WALLS AND RAILINGS: low coursed and coped boundary walls to street; replacement railings. Original cast iron railings to areas. Pedestrian gate adjoining to N.
