Early 19th century. Mirrored pair of simple classical mirrored 2-storey 2-bay semi-detached houses. Coursed sandstone rubble with ashlar dressings, including long and short quoins; random rubble to sides and rear. Base course, eaves cornice and blocking course, raised at centre.
W (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: regularly fenestrated; architraved windows and doors. Timber panelled doors with fanlight above, finely decorative at No 9; dentilled cornice above.
12- pane glazing pattern in timber sash and case windows. Graded grey slates. Stone coped wallhead stacks swept at base (concrete faced at No 9).
BOUNDARY WALL: stone coped coursed rubble garden walls - high to sides, low to front.
Nos 1-9 Laverockbank Road are part of the very first 'suburban' development at Trinity (built on the grounds of Laverockbank House), as opposed to the first generation country 'cottages' (some of which were, of course, very grand indeed).
