Corner block (1 Brandon Street and 1-3a Eyre Place) 3-storey
and basement, details on Eyre Place partly defaced; 5-7a
Eyre Place and 2-9a Brandon Street, 2-storey attics and
basement; 10-16 Brandon Street 4-storey and basement,
symmetrical curved frontage. Ground floor rusticated
throughout.
James Eyre's estate. Development on the grounds of Canonmills
House which stood in the middle of Eyre Crescent. See also
Huntly Street for another fragment. The remainder of Eyre
Place, Eyre Crescent, Brandon Terrace and Cannon Street
were eventually completed to the original layout but with
mid-Victorian elevations.
