Description

Hugh Baird, circa 1820. Coursed sandstone with ashlar dressings. Segmental arch bridge with hog's back profile; dressed voussoirs and soffit. Advanced keystone with 16 inscribed. String course. Railings between parapet walls. Slab coping to walls.

Edinburgh and Glasgow Union Canal designed by Hugh Baird was built from 1818-22.
