Description

Pre 1804. 4-storey, 4-bay tenement with basement, part of near regular terrace of 5. Cream sandstone, dressed ashlar with polished dressings, rubble to rear. Band course above basement; architraved windows, corniced at ground floor; dentilled eaves cornice; ashlar mullions; corniced doorways with fluted pilasters, rectangular plate glass fanlight and 2-leaf panelled doors.

SE (FRONT) ELEVATION: doorway to main door flat (now office) in bay to left of centre; doorway to common stair to outer left. Bays to right broad tripartite window (later alteration) at ground floor. Single windows to remaining bays and floors. 2 rectangular tripartite piended dormers.

NW (REAR) ELEVATION: central wallhead raised to nepus gable with apex stack and single windows.

Timber sash and case windows, mostly 12-pane, some plate glass glazing to rear. Black slate roof; apex stack (see above), broad mutual coped stacks and skews.

INTERIOR: not seen 1993.

BOUNDARY WALLS AND RAILINGS: low rubble boundary wall to front, some original cast-iron railings.
