Earlier 19th century, with later alterations. 2-storey, 9-bay group of classical terraced houses (house to centre now subdivided to form No 5 at ground and No 7 at 1st floor). Rendered at ground (all painted), droved ashlar to 1st floor, polished ashlar dressings (Nos 3, 7 and 9 painted), rubble now heavily pointed and repaired with render side elevation to No 3. Base course, band course between floors, cornice and blocking course.
W (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: irregularly disposed bays, grouped 2 (No 3);
3 (Nos 5 and 7); 4 (No 9). Deep-set panelled doors to penultimate bays and bays flanking centre with rectangular plate glass fanlights and windows at 1st floor above each (modern doors in those bays left of centre; large plate glass fanlight above door left of centre and blinded window at 1st floor above). Windows to each floor of remaining bays.
E (REAR) ELEVATION: not seen, 1994.
12-pane timber sash and case windows to No 7 and ground of No 9; plate glass timber sash and case windows to Nos 3, 5 and outer bays of No 9 at 1st floor; casement window to centre at 1st floor of No 9. Grey slate roof with coped skews dividing houses. Ashlar mutual stacks, rendered between Nos 3 and 5; gablehead stack to No 3, side elevation.
INTERIORS: not seen, 1994.
BOUNDARY WALLS: rendered with coping to Nos 3 and 5; rubble with coping to No 9; all formerly with railings; some railings remaining to No 3.
These buildings appear on Sutter's map, 1856. The houses have a continuous roof-line and all have their original roofing materials. The listing includes Nos 7A, 7B and 7C Regent Street.
