Description

Later 19th century with later alterations. 2-storey 5-bay (including chamfered corner bay) building terminating terrace, with shop accommodation at ground. Droved ashlar at 1st floor, polished ashlar to chamfered bay, rubble to rear. Band course between ground and 1st floor, cill course. cornice and blocking course.

SW (PORTOBELLO HIGH STREET) ELEVATION: windows in each bay at 1st floor. Basket-arched doorpiece to centre (entrance to vestibule leading to 1st floor accommodation, No 290); plate glass rectangular fanlight above door. Basket-arched windows in flanking bays. Door in chamfered corner (outer left) bay at ground (shop accommodation). Basket-arched doorpiece in bay to outer right with later glazed door (No 292).

NW (BELLFIELD LANE) ELEVATION: irregular 4-bay. Door inner right, blinded window at 1st floor, bay to outer right.

Variety of windows 4-pane, 6-pane, plate glass timber sash and case windows. Grey slate roof with 2-pane skylight to outer right. Ashlar wallhead stack between centre and inner left bays, SW elevation; mutual stacks, rendered and coped to SE, ashlar and coped to NE.

INTERIOR: not seen, 1994.
