Early 19th century. 4-storey and attic 6-bay tenement. Cream sandstone, polished ashlar to ground floor, dressed ashlar with polished dressings above, coursed and squared rubble to rear. Base course; raised quoins; impost band course at ground floor; band course above ground floor; eaves cornice; round-arched openings at ground floor (except 2 (later) rectangular windows flanking doorway to No 38).
S (FRONT) ELEVATION: doorway to outer right flanked by rectangular shop windows with chamfered reveals, 2-leaf panelled door with round-arched radial astragals; doorway off-centre to right with panelled door and semi-circular fanlight with radial astragals; 3 windows and doorway to left with round-arched fanlight/heads with (modern) radial astragals, panelled door. Single windows to 1st, 2nd and 3rd floor above. Nepus gable at centre with 2 windows; 2 single dormers with piended roofs flanking.
N (REAR) ELEVATION: single windows; lower 2-storey extension with piended roof, squared and snecked rubble at ground floor with segmental-arched opening (now blocked)
on flank.
12-pane timber sash and case windows, round-arched modern shop windows with small-pane fixed windows with semi-circular hopper heads with radial astragals. Slate roof with metal ridge; apex stack to nepus gable (rebuilt), 2 broad apex stacks.
INTERIOR: not seen 1993.
