Description

Early 19th century with later alterations. Mirrored pair of 2-storey, 2-bay terraced houses. Squared rubble (now heavily pointed), droved ashlar dressings (No 10 all dressings painted). Base course; possibly later, slightly raised quoins.

SE (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: 9-panelled doors in corniced doorpieces, (No 12 cement rendered), in bays to centre; rectangular plate glass fanlights and windows at 1st floor above each. Windows to each floor of flanking bays.

NW (REAR) ELEVATION: modern and pre-1856 extensions to rear of both to outer bays (piended single storey extension to outer left of No 12).

12-pane timber sash and case windows. Graded slate roof; ashlar skews and apex stacks to outer limits of pair.

INTERIOR: not seen, 1994.

BOUNDARY WALLS: rendered with coping, to No 10; rubble with coping to No 12.

Statement of Interest

Permission was sought from the Dean of Guild by No 10, in April 1909, to build a cottage, presumably on the lane to the NW (Bellfield Lane).
