Description

Thomas Hamilton, circa 1850. 2-storey, 6-bay classical terraced pair with attic and single storey pavilions. Droved ashlar dressings to front; coursed and squared rubble to sides and rear. Base course, band course, eaves cornice and blocking course. Projecting cills to all openings.

N (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: symmetrical. Panelled entrance doors with rectangular plate glass fanlights in outer bays; framed by painted Roman Doric pilasters and entablature. Regularly fenestrated with 3-light canted dormers over 2nd and 3rd bays.

S W AND E ELEVATIONS: not seen (1995).

Plate glass timber sash and case windows to all openings. Grey slate piended roof; piended, canted slate-hung dormer. Wallhead stacks.

INTERIOR: not seen (1995).

BOUNDARY WALL: ashlar dwarf wall with coping, surmounted by modern railings, to street.

GATEPIERS: square-section ashlar gatepiers with shallow pyramidal caps and cast-iron lamp brackets.
