Description

Later 19th century. Cemetery to NE of town; sandstone walls and gates. Rubble boundary wall with semi-circular coping to E, S and W sides. Ashlar gatepiers with base course, cornice and flat pyramidal caps to S with flanking quadrant walls terminated by similar piers. Cast-iron spearheaded gates. Cemetery extended to N but monuments attached to former enclosing wall (rebuilt at sides) remain in situ, including tripartite Greek monument with acroteria and anthemion cresting, and Gothic Revival monument supported on corbels with marble columns.
