Description

Mid 19th century. 2-storey, 3-bay, rectangular-plan, gabled house. Harled squared rubble. Plain margins to openings, projecting cills to windows.

W (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: symmetrical, regular fenestration with entrance to centre, later door. Scrolled wallhead consoles to gable ends.

E (REAR) ELEVATION: irregular fenestration to rear.

N (SIDE) ELEVATION: blind gable end.

S (SIDE) ELEVATION: windows to outer left, partially obscured by abutting building.

12-pane, timber-framed, sash and case windows. Grey slates, lead flashing. Cast-iron rainwater goods. Coped gable stacks

INTERIOR: plain but largely original fittings and simple plasterwork.

Statement of Interest

A good, well-preserved, example of 18th century Scottish burgh architecture, traditional and substantial.
