Description

Later 19th century. 2-storey large villa. Roughly
square-plan, with service wing to NW. Bull-faced
snecked red ashlar and quoins with polished dressings
and moulded/chamfered reveals; windows mostly mullioned,
and mostly segmental-headed at ground, shouldered at
1st floor. SE and SW elevations both 3 bays, bipartites
to inner bays and stone-bracketted balconies linking canted
full-height outer bays - canted bays facing SE corbelled
to square at 1st floor. Balustraded long narrow porch at
NW with 6 shouldered-headed lights; second door on NW
wall alongside, facing service wing and string course
between floors and at 1st floor cill level; bracketted
cornice.
Corniced stacks; piended slate roofs.
Interior: elaborate cornice and ceiling plasterwork in
principal rooms; carved timber stair; some fireproof
partitions.

Statement of Interest

Now used as Regional Council Offices, and set behind low

modern block.
