Description

Later 19th century. Large rectangular-plan college
block. 3 storeys with attics. Bullfaced red ashlar with
polished dressings. Symmetrical projecting central gable
crowned by bellcote with cross finial and large chimney
stack behind. Doorway flanked by single windows in centre
of projecting bay, bipartite round-headed windows 1st
and 2nd floors, 3rd floor Venetian window with statue in
central niche. 4 bays each side of centre gable. Strings
at 1st floor and attic cill level (now mostly removed at
attic); attic windows break through eaves and have gabled
dormer heads. Sash windows, mostly with 4-pane glazing
pattern. Large ridge roof with twin end stacks near
ridge. Slate roof with brattishing.
