Description

W W Robertson. Dated 1887. Scottish Jacobean. Former
post office. 2 storeys with railed basement, off-centre
wide gable with door (approached by platt) and single
segmental-arched window at ground, 1st floor corbelled
and with transomed 3-light window, decorative and finialed
skews; single recessed bay left with 2 windows at ground,
2 bays recessed at right with balustraded low square
projection in re-entrant angle; 1st floor windows break
through eaves and have pedimented dormer heads. Stugged
red coursers with polished dressings, moulded reveals,
stepped strings, crow-stepped gables and coped end stacks.
Slate roof. Detailing repeated on E gable. Cast-iron
railings linked to square piers.
