Early 19th century with alterations. 2-storey; 5-bay; terrace of 4 cottages, mainly with later shopfronts to ground floor. Coped gable ends with moulded skewputts. Sandstone rubble; harled to principal (W) and S elevations.
W (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: ground floor irregular and much altered; entrances to 1st, 3rd, 4th and 5th bays; those to 3rd and 5th bays (Nos 28 and 32) recessed within shopfronts; timber doors; panelled to Nos 28 and 30 (that to No 30 is 2-leaf). Shop window wraps around corner to outer right (No 28). No 34 is double-fronted; shop window to left of entrance; architraved window to right. Shop windows to either side of entrance to No 32. Single window to right of entrance to No 30. Slightly irregular widely-spaced windows to 1st floor.
S ELEVATION: modern wrapround shop window to left of ground floor; inserted window to right.
N ELEVATION: small window to left to each floor.
Various mainly modern windows; mainly 4 and 12-pane timber sash and case windows to 1st floor of principal elevation. Replacement pantile roof. Low gablehead stacks (that to S is harled) to either end of block; low rendered ridge stack to left of centre; cans missing.
INTERIORS: not inspected (1998).
