Style of George Mathewson, earlier 19th century. Single storey and attic, irregular plan, Picturesque villa. Harled slate roof, ashlar stacks. Mainly 12-lying-pane sash and case window with chamfered painted margins; round-headed sash and case at attic gables N and S. Deep eaves, paired moulded diamond stacks.
N ELEVATION: off-centre paired doors; modern shopfront at cut-back corner at left. Advanced gable at right with window at ground floor and round-headed window at attic; ridge stack; narrow bay set-back at right with window and cat-slide roof.
S ELEVATION: advanced central gable with half-glazed door at left, window at right and round-headed window at attic; ridge stack; flanking windows set-back at main elevation, out of character box dormers above. advanced single-storey canted bay at left with 3 windows and facetted roof; flat-roofed addition at right with door.
