Description

Patrick Thoms, for himself, 1929. 2-storey late Arts and
Crafts, picturesquely asymmetrical. Random rubble with ashlar
margins.
S elevation: near-centre gable with 2-storey, 5-light bow.
4-light mullioned ground floor window to E, similar dormer
in low swept roof. Rustic loggia, square and cylindrical piers
with corbelled balcony, in re-entrant angle formed by canted
prow, latter with 1- and 2-light windows, boldly projecting W.
Entrance elevation: 2-storey, arched chamfered entrance,
1- and 2-light windows to W, projecting circular stairtower
with conical roof and weather-vane. Steep swept roof to E
with small single storey piend-roofed wing. 2 rubble-built
stacks.
Gabled and piended roof of large stone slates. Fixed and
casement windows, multiple diamond-pane glazing pattern.
INTERIOR intact: fine woodwork, inglenook chimneypieces,
coved plaster ceilings.

Also know as Gray Walls. Listing excludes former stable block

to rear (Ireland and MacLaren, 1880, for Binrock).
